Althorp is one of the most beautiful stately homes in England. It was built in 1508 by the Spencers for the Spencers, and that is how it has remained for over 500 years. Discover beautiful interiors and one of Europes finest private collections of furniture, pictures and ceramics. In the stables you will find a cafe, gift shop and an exhibition on the Spencer family and their contribution to English public life. It is also the final resting place of Diana, the Princess Of Wales, having been her family home until she married Prince Charles at the age of 21.
