This special island tour explores the beauty of the Shetland and Orknrey Isles. From dramatic rugged coastlines, to the ancient history and unique blend of Scottish and Scandinavian culture, the wonderful guided tours will make this an unforgettable Scottish island experience.

Excursion 1

We may our way to Scotland, with suitable breaks and arrive at the SaluationHotel, Perth for our overnight stay.

Excursion 2

After breakfast we travel via the stunning Cairngorm National Park, and enjoy a break in Inverness, before continuing to Thurso, Castletown Hotel, our base for the next 2 nights.

Excursion 3

Today we visit the formal royal residence of the Queen Mother, the Castle and Gardens of Mey. Afterwards we visit the most northerly point of the mainland, John O Groats.

Excursion 4

We journey to Srabster for the lunchtime ferry to Orkney. A local guide will join us and we visit Skara Brae, older than Stonehenge, travel past the Churchhill Barriers, and visit the Italian Chapel. we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before boarding the overnight ferry to Shetland.

Excursion 5

After breakfast on board we arrive in Lerwick and meet our guide. We visit a local jewellery workshop, and see some Shetland ponies before visiting the Shetland Museum. we continue to Fladdabister and the worlds best preserved 2000 year old Iron Broch, on the island of Mousa. We finally visit Jarlshof, europes archaelogical site and then board the overnight ferry with dinner on board, back to Aberdeen.

Excursion 6

On arrival in Aberdeen, breakfast is served before we disebark and continue our homeward journey.

Your Hotel Castletown Hotel, Thurso 3 Star rating

Situated in the village of Casletown, all rooms have TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. There is a restaurant, and bar. The hotel has no lift, but some ground floor rooms are available.
