Celebrating Teachers and the Adventures Beyond the Classroom
5th October 2026
5th October is World Teachers’ Day a day to recognise the dedication, passion and hard work of teachers and education staff around the world.
We know that some of the best learning doesn’t always happen inside the classroom.
From discovering new places and experiencing different cultures to competing on the sports field and building confidence on a residential trip, school journeys give pupils the chance to learn, grow and create memories together.
And behind every one of those experiences is a team of teachers working hard to make it happen.
More than just a journey
For pupils, getting on a coach for a school trip can be the start of an exciting adventure. For teachers, there’s often a lot of planning behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.
We are proud to support schools with a wide range of trips and journeys throughout the year.
Educational Trips
Learning comes to life when pupils can experience it for themselves.
Whether it’s visiting a museum, exploring a historic site, discovering the world of science or heading somewhere completely new, educational trips give pupils the opportunity to take what they’ve learnt in the classroom and see it in the real world.
These experiences can inspire curiosity, encourage questions and create lasting memories; all while making learning fun.
Sports Trips
From school tournaments and fixtures to athletics competitions and sporting events, we help schools get their teams where they need to be.
Sports trips are about much more than competition. They’re an opportunity for pupils to develop teamwork, build confidence, support their classmates and enjoy being part of something bigger.
Win or lose, the memories made travelling together and representing their school can stay with pupils for years to come.
Residential Trips
Residential trips are often some of the most memorable experiences of school life.
A few days away from home can give pupils the chance to try something new, challenge themselves and develop independence in a supportive environment.
From outdoor activities and adventure centres to cultural and educational residentials, these trips can help pupils discover abilities they didn’t know they had.
Cultural & Discovery Trips
Taking pupils somewhere new can open their eyes to different places, people, cultures and experiences.
Whether it’s a day exploring a city, visiting a cultural attraction or travelling further afield, these trips provide opportunities to discover something beyond the familiar.
Sometimes, the most valuable lessons come from seeing the world from a different perspective.
Trips, Events & Experiences
School life is full of opportunities to experience something different from theatre trips and concerts to exhibitions and special events.
These experiences allow pupils to explore interests outside the traditional classroom and can introduce them to new passions, ideas and opportunities.
A big thank you to teachers
Of course, none of these experiences would be possible without the teachers and school staff who make them happen. While pupils may remember the excitement of the trip, teachers know just how much work goes into making it happen.
From organising itineraries and communicating with parents to managing groups and making sure everyone knows where they need to be, there’s a lot to think about.
So, this World Teachers’ Day, we want to say thank you.
Thank you to the teachers who inspire curiosity, encourage confidence and create opportunities for pupils to experience more of the world around them.
We’re proud to play a part in those journeys and to help make those days out, sporting events, educational visits and residential adventures possible.
So, whether you’re planning your next school adventure or organising a trip for your own group, Whittles Coaches can help get you there.
Happy World Teachers’ Day from everyone at Whittles Coaches!
